New Book Alert!New Book Alert!! remember when you would buy a punk fanzine for $1.00 and it would always have some wicked photo of a band that made you want to start a band and imitate? You would buy Skateboarder or Thrasher magazine for $3.00 and it would have pictures that would stoke you so bad that you rode your board in your moms kitchen because it was raining outside and you just had to skate. Now fast forward some 30 years, no maybe 35 years, your old and you spend $40.00 on a coffee table book with all those photos in it! This is the book, the photographers name is Glen E. Friedman and he was there 30-40 years ago getting all the best pictures. When your done flippin through this book call me up and we will go skate the vic west tub. I will bring my ghetto blaster and we can listen to some Germs and Public Enemy on cassette! Then we can jam in the basement.... Wait your 40-50 years old and don't do that anymore!

Reid Fleming

I came around a corner at a comic type expo and there was David Boswell. I only wish i was prepared. I was star struck... it was kinda like being hit by a milktruck. This comic is still on my top 5 list. David Boswell gave me an autograph and a sketch. I bought two of his comics. He informed me that he had two new issues in the making. So many laughs reading Reid Fleming... Get this book if you have never experienced the Worlds toughest Milkman. "AND YOU SHUT YOUR MOUTH WHEN YOUR TALKING TO ME!!!" 

Rosie and Me went to Fan Expo 2013

I left sad.... i couldn't afford the Stan Lee autograph at $50! BUT i did get a David Boswell autograph with a Reid Flemming sketch! Rosie met Samwise Gamgee and got her picture taken a million times in her Fiona costume. I was wearing the Lucha Libre Blue Demon costume and only one guy took my picture because he though i was from the Blue Man Group. We had a great time and met some cool people. Really dug this guys art/comics http://www.seankaremaker.com/ Also picked up Vol1 and Vol2 of Strange Tales books by Marvel with artists like Tony Millionaire, Jaime Hernandez, Jeff Lemire, Jeffrey Brown, and tuns more... why haven't you been pushing this superhero comic down at your shop! Its the best thing i have read in the Marvel comic line up for years!!! I would also like to let you know I took the Pepsi Max challenge by the Brony display table you were spending all your time at http://bronycan.com/ .... and me and Rosie still like Coke best.

John Steinbeck The Moon is Down

There is a reading book bin in my neighborhood so this was my pic last month. I have read Cannery Row and was surprised to see it was about a bunch of skid rows... from what i remember. The Moon is Down was a good read WW2 invasion... interesting.

We Got Power by David Markey & Jordan Schwartz

Old punks documenting what happened... here's another coffee table book chalked full of photos and essays by important scenesters of the southern California area. We Got Power was a fanzine that came out in the early eighties and the book ends with complete reprints of the fanzine. This happened in every big city.... the bands the fanzines and the punks. Like the many coffee table books before covering punk... this is a good one. Absolute Music -ricky
